Symmetry 1

An 18″ x 24″ ink and watercolor on watercolor paper

Liked the two-page sketchbook work that I’d previously done,
I decided to recreate it on a larger single piece of paper surface.

The original artwork can be purchased here:

Live painting results

The work-in-progress. I think this was my first time doing pleinaire where you end up with no light on your subject and you’re hoping the light and shadows are working correctly.

For better or worse, here’s the 18″x 24″ finished watercolor. Fortunately, it was raffled off to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the folks who bought it seemed pleased with the results.

Villa Christina Study

9″ x 12″ watercolor

I’ll be “performing” a live painting at a fundraiser tonight, my part is going to be painting a larger 18″x 24″ watercolor with lots of tables and people in this garden area. Hopefully, all goes well and my painting will be auctioned off without a hitch. If it turns out ok, I’ll be posting tomorrow. I may even try “live-casting” on Instagram somewhere between 6:00 & 7:00 pm EST. Check it out if you can! Thx
