Wishing a speedy recovery

11″ x 17″ pencil sketchbook drawing

My mentor and first college art professor was in a slight accident recently, so wishing him a “get-well soon” here by posting some images of him drawn between 1980 and 2020.

Sketchbook 2021-2022

Here’s a speedy look thru one of my sketchbooks. At the time, I was using a landscape-oriented book to make use of the open page spread. I also avoided lines/ink and wet paint from bleeding to the other side by leaving the backside of each drawn page blank, which also avoids the dilemma of having a nice drawing on each side of the page that one might want to frame.

Apollo 11, way back in 1969

Way back in 1969, some human beings did something pretty amazing, we took a walk on the moon! To commemorate Apollo 11, I got to sketching bits of this historical event. Some of the pen & ink watercolors on various scraps of illustration board ranging in size from 2″x 3″ up to 4″x 6″.
