A totally revised pencil sketch for a commission. Sometimes the image in your head and in your client’s is on two different planets, and you try to get them in some sort of synchronized orbit, so the final painting is at least in the same ballpark. How’s that for some generalized metaphors?
Im my previous life, I worked as a graphic designer and art director for a few different agencies. I encountered think problem many times, but have worked at reducing this problem in my fine art. Yet every now and then someone feels the need to art direct down to the last brush stroke. Ugh.
