Here’s my most recently completed segment painting. It turned out a little looser than I expected but I think it gets across the images. Several contrasts in this one: going to work on foot, returning in rush hour; sunny daisies and stormy clouds; manmade activity vs. natural events; a theme on productivity perhaps? Anyway, I recently spoke to another artist who felt that a painting should mean whatever to viewer wants to take from the image and I agree. I select reference images that interest me but don’t wish to limit their interpretation with my notions. On to the next canvas…
